If you have the time we recommend our visitors to join us on the full day Yala safari. Note that Yala National Park is closed from 12 noon to 2 pm. Even the full day vehicles are not allowed to drive during this time. You can make use of this time to have a snack or go to the beach and relax. If you prefer to stay within the park you can have a nap in the wilderness.
You can say Yala is the best safari in Sri Lanka. However your chances of seeing most animals are more if its early morning. Full day safaris are relaxed and the drivers can take their time to take you around the park without rushing through.
You are most likely to see Leopards, Elephants, Crocodiles, Deer, Sloth Bear and bird varieties.
Our drivers are safe and well disciplined. They are careful not to disturb the animals as well as giving you a comfortable ride during the tour.
Overview
- There are 44 mammals in this park including elephants, sloth bears, leopards being the highlight and many other species. Although it is not known as a bird watching location, Yala is home to more than 215 bird varieties that include Sri Lankan wood pigeon, bee-eaters, Sri Lankan frog-mouth and many others.
