An early morning safari is the best option at Lunugamvehera National Park, as visitors can enjoy the breathtaking sights of the forests and reservoir, and frequent sightings of the fauna and flora. If your schedule doesn’t allow the morning safari, Earth Lanka Events will organize an early afternoon safari to best suit your agenda. It is best to avoid tours at this park during November and December when the rainfall is at its peak. May to September are the drier months of Sri Lanka which is also the ideal season to visit the park.
Overview
- The annual rainfall of 1000 mm and the temperature is 30 degrees celsius clearly. The Park has a variety of tree and plant species which provide ample food stocks for vegetarian animals.
- Lunugamvehera park shelters 21 fish species, 12 amphibians, 33 reptiles, 183 birds and 43 mammals.
